Kood
Island is so-called “Koh Kood”, the most spectacular in the
easternmost of Thailand.
Captainhook resort is located on the southwest coastline of
Kood Island. Travelling there can be made by driving east
from Bangkok which takes about 5 hours. Also Bangkok Airways
and Eva Air provide another luxury route from Bangkok to Trat.
Captainhook

on the cape between Klong Yai Kee stream and the beach, Captain
Hook resort is always cool because of the wind. You can your
favorite corners from all over the resort area such as the
pavilion by the sea, bar, clubhouse, swimming pool, and the
viewpoint where the view of Koh Rad can be seen. The accommodation
are located in 2 different zone; by the steam and by the cliff.
The accommodations by the stream are Deluxe rooms with private
balconies. At night, watching the view at the balcony in very
enjoyable.
The
accommodations by the cliff are Pool Suite Villas and Mini
Pool Villas. Decorate in boutique style and fully equipped
with a wide range of facilities including Jacuzzi.

Location
Koh
Kood is the farthest island from the coast of Trat. Its size
ranks as the fourth of all Thailand's islands or the second
to Koh Chang in Trat.
The
island covers an area of approximately 105 sq.km or 65,625
rai. It is 25 km in length and 12 km in width. Its natural
features include mountains and plains where many streams originate
and some become waterfalls. One famous waterfall is Nam Tok
Khlong Chao flows all throughout the year. It is an ideal
place for swimming, consisting of 3 tiers; the upper two tiers
are running streams and the lower one is a large pond. In
1911, King Rama VI paid a royal visit to this waterfakk and
named it 'Nam Tok Anam Kok' to commemorate Ong Chiang Su.
In addition; there are beaches with crystal-clear sea popular
among visitors such as Taphao Beach, Khlong Chao Beach, Khlong
Hin Beach, Phrao Beach, etc.
Accommodation
with a private atmosphere is available for visitors at the
inner sea of Koh Kood, and the other two islands, Ko Rat and
Ko Mai Si, opposite to Koh Kood.
Travel
to Koh Kood
Most visitors to Koh Kood have to purchase a package tour
offered by resort operators on Koh Kood at different prices
that includes food, accommodation, and a boat fare. A boat
for rent is also available apart from a ferry boat leaving
Dan Kao Pier and Laem Ngob Pier.
All room rates are net quoted in Thai Baht, inclusive of tax and service charge.

For your information : When travelling overland to your booked accommodation on an island without its own airport, make sure that boat and train schedules match with each other. If you travel overland by own car, it is very important to arrive at the boat pier in time in order to catch the boat. Various islands offer limited boat transfer from and to the mainland, especially when traveling in the early morning / late evening. It is highly recommendable to add extra time to your planned travel plan.
