We
are a family-run and family oriented little resort right by
the sea on the west coast of Ko Chang in the Gulf of Thailand.
We
have 28 nice clean bungalows, and our own swimming pool and
restaurant, all beautifully positioned in a garden setting
with the sea and sunsets on the west side, and a backdrop
of mountains to the east.
All
our bungalows are airconditioned, tiled throughout, have their
own western style bathroom and hot shower, a fridge and cable
TV, and a balcony with table & chairs.
Pennys
first started as a Guest House in Ao Nang, Krabi in 1995,
where we became quite popular, but we moved to Ko Chang in
2003, so we would like to tell anyone who might have reached
this page from an old Ao Nang link that we are now nicely
re-established on Koh Chang in the Gulf of Thailand, just
off the East coast near Trat, close to the Thai-Cambodian
border.
We
have a full restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and
dinner and offers various kinds of Thai food as well as some
western styled dishes.
We
hope that you will soon be sitting here to enjoy your meal
whilst looking at the sea or the sunset.
Pennys
Location
Pennys
are now on the west coast of the Island at Hat Kai Mook (Pearl
Beach) near to Khlong Prao Bay just north of Ban Khlong Prao.

Arriving
by airplane: The
easiest way is to take the airport minibus(350-400 Baht/pax),
they take every guest to every place in Ko Chang. On special
request we can offer also a private taxi service (up to 2
persons/2200 Baht any other person + 60 Baht)
Arriving
by bus:
From
Bangkok the easiest, most direct, and most economical way
to get to KoChang is to take a 1st class bus from the Eastern
(Ekamai) Bus Terminal straight to the Centrepoint ferry pier
at Laem Ngop. The fareis 232 baht (or 438 baht for a round
trip) and takes just over fivehours. Departures from Ekamai
are at 07:45 & 13:00, and return at14:00 and 16:00. Subject
to seat availability, this bus can also be boarded at Chanthaburi.
Alternatively,
there are 1st class (approx. every hour 6a.m. to midnight
and taking 5 hours) and 2nd class services from both the Eastern
Bus Terminal (Ekamai) and Northern Bus Terminal (Moh Chit)
direct to Trat, and frequent songthaew services from Trat
to Laem Ngop (approx. 30 minutes). Departures from Ekamai
are more frequent than from Moh Chit.
From
Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport, take the free express shuttle
bus from outside the arrivals concourse to the airport's own
bus terminal, and from there the
next available bus to either Trat(6:30am, 9.30am, 12noon,
12:30pm) or Chanthaburi.
From
Laem Ngop take the ferry to Ko Chang and once there take another
songthaew service to Penny's at Hat Kai Mook (30 -50 Baht).

Arriving by self-drive: -
Turn right when you come off the ferry, and follow the only
main road around the northern tip of the island.
- Beware of very steep and sharp hairpin bends.
- Descend into Hat Sai Kow (White Sands Beach) and continue
through the tourist area and up the hill on the other (south)
side.
- After approx 1km, you will reach the top of the hill and
the road starts to descend again.
- See the new private hospital/clinic on your left.
- The road levels and then starts to go uphill again.
- Halfway up this gentle hill, look for a right turn (westwards)
down a bad road with Penny's signboard and a new TOT customer
center on the corner.
- Go slowly down this rough road and follow signs to Penny's
and Enjoy Resort.
- Turn sharp left (southwards) immediately after Enjoy Resort's
restaurant on your left.
- Pass Paradise Palms on your right.
- Penny's are the next buildings on your right. Look for our
nicely kept gardens.
Taxi:
We
can also arrange a taxi service directly from Trat town or
Trat airport to Penny's, inclusive of ferry charges, for 2
passengers at 2200 Baht. For additional passengers up to a
total of 5, add 60 Baht/person.
From the pier in Koh Chang to Penny's we offer a taxi service
for up to 5 passengers for 300 Baht.
