Who
is Ihtiander?
The story begins in Russian folklore with a young boy
named Ihtiander. Unfortunately, in early childhood htiander
became very ill and to save his life his father instructed
the hospital to replace little Ihtiander's lungs with
the gills of a shark. Not only did this save his life
but made Ihtiander a true amphibian.
With
his ability to survive and thrive not only on land but
in the sea Ihtiander began a life filled with many adventures.
In time he found himself as a protector of the sea and
its many treasures. So began the story of Ihtiander,
the boy turned guardian of the sea and all the beauty
and mystery it contains.
Who
are we?
Ihtiander is the ONLY combined scuba diving and meditation
center, IN THE WORLD, devoted to introducing and helping
you to explore the mysteries of the underwater world
and your inner being. For nearly a decade, our staff
has been teaching diving and meditation in the waters
around Thailand as well as other parts of the world.
Our international staff of instructors bring diving
experience and meditative teachings from masters of
the past and present, worldwide.
Ihtiander owns and operates dive centers in both Pattaya
and Koh
Chang (Trat). We are a PADI licensed and
sanctioned dive operation with two boats servicing the
entire Gulf of Thailand.
Where
do you dive?
Our dive sites focus around the Far Islands about 30
km off the shores of Pattaya and Jomtien Beach. There
are nearly 20 different dive locations around the islands
of Koh Rin, Koh Man Wichai, Koh Phi & Koh Khram.
Most of these islands are uninhabited and offer superb
coral diving in addition to relaxing on often deserted
beach activities.
What
about away from Pattaya?
With the opening of our new shop in Trat, on the island
of Koh Chang, we can now help you explore the many dive
sites and islands of the south (near Cambodia). These
islands include, not only Koh Chang itself but Koh Wai,
Koh Mak and Koh Kood. In this area you can dive in and
around a few World War II wrecks, large rock/coral walls
and large marine life such as whale sharks, barracuda
and grouper.
Do
you wreck dive?
If your serious or simply curious about wreck diving
we have a number of wreck dive sites not far from Pattaya
as well as in the Koh Chang area. These wrecks are home
to large marine life and often endless visibility with
depths of 40m for experienced divers & 10m for our
first time divers. The Hardeep and Koho Maru are located
just hours from Pattaya and challenge divers with thier
depth and often strong currents. On the other hand the
Koh Chang Wreck is a WWII warship near the island in
only 10m of water for those with a little experience
but a desire for adventure. See our dive trip schedule

is Meditation Diving?
In Eastern cultures meditation has been a way to discover
the mysteries of life for many centuries. Meditation
removes the mind and all relative sufferings connected
to it than enriches the conciseness through advanced
techniques in breathing and scuba diving. Meditation
is diving into eternity as diving is meditation into
yourself. Religions speak of this...Masters point to
this...but scuba diving with meditation give you this...are
you ready for this?
The
power and energy of the sea is as infinite as that of
your "being". Imagine the possibilities of
combining the energy within yourself with that of the
worlds oceans and seas. The warm water environment that
The Gulf of Thailand offers together with the virtual
sen released into the sea as we become more aware of

Our boat the "Ihtiander 1" is owned and operated
by our staff and was designed specifically for diving.
At 65 feet in length the "Ihtiander" comfortably
accommodates any number of divers and their families.
There are three levels on our boat:
The
lower level caters to all dive activities as well as
fishing and swimming. The second level is up and away
from the excitement for those who prefer to relax in
the shade and enjoy the island sites. Lastly, for our
sun lovers the upper level provides a lofty place to
work on that perfect tan (just a few miles from the
equator). To better serve our divers the lower level
features a large dive deck and ladder.
The
deck is at water level making entrance and exit to and
from the water safer and easier. In addition, we have
an air compressor on board to ensure that your tanks
will always be full and ready for your next dive. Because
of her size the Ihtiander offers ample space for storage
of personal belongings and dive equipment. Don't forget
to take advantage of the cool fresh water shower which
is available throughout the day making your return to
Pattaya much more pleasant.
Our
captain and well trained staff of diving professionals
will not only ensure a safe and enjoyable day but a
relaxing environment as well. As you will see the "Ithiander"
is not only a place to enjoy quality diving but a place
for non-divers to enjoy the tropical island atmosphere.
The "Ihtiander" and your dive trip will include
lunch of both European and Asian cuisines created on
board in our fully serving kitchen.

This
dive boat offers an experience like no other in Thai
waters. Production of the "Ithainder II" has
recently been completed and it has proven to be one
of the fastest and most comfortable dive boats in South
East Asia.
This
new boat has been designed to access all dive sites
in the Gulf of Thailand which includes Koh
Tao, Cambodia and Malaysia. "Ihtiander
II" has live-aboard facilities for twelve people
with luxury and VIP suites available for those who like
to dive in style. The common areas include an interior
saloon, an exterior lounge, which quickly converts to
a working dive deck, and a spacious sun deck. Powered
by dual diesel engines the new Ihtiander brings all
of South East Asia to our dive deck. Please refer to
the enclosed flyer for additional information about
